Barcelona vice-captain Ronald Araujo has expressed his heartbreak over teammate Raphinha’s five-week injury layoff, describing the Brazilian forward as a vital component of the club’s pursuit of major titles this season.
Ronald Araujo has voiced his deep concern after Barcelona teammate Raphinha suffered a significant injury during Brazil’s friendly against France.
Following Uruguay’s 1-1 draw with England at Wembley, the defender admitted to Mundo Deportivo: “I just saw him, and honestly, I’m very sad.
Everyone knows how important Raphinha is for us, and I hope he can recover soon because we need him.”
The injury is a massive blow for Hansi Flick’s side, with Raphinha expected to miss over a month of domestic and European action.
Despite the setback, Araujo emphasized the need for squad resilience during this critical period.
Addressing the professional demands of the international break, he added: “It’s really a shame it happens now… but we have to be professional, and that’s what we must do.”
