Al Nassr dismantled Al Zawraa 5-1 in their final AFC Champions League Two group match, led by a Kingsley Coman brace and key playmaking from Cristiano Ronaldo.
Al Nassr finished their AFC Champions League Two group stage campaign with a flawless record after a 5-1 demolition of Al Zawraa at Al-Awwal Park.
The Saudi side dominated from the outset, fueled by a clinical first-half performance. Goals from Kingsley Coman, Wesley, and Abdulelah Al Amri established a commanding lead, while Cristiano Ronaldo provided a “sublime chipped assist” for Joao Felix to make it 4-0 before the halftime whistle.
Al Zawraa managed a brief response early in the second half when Ibrahim Gbadamosi capitalized on a through ball from Qasim Majid to score.
However, Al Nassr’s tactical depth proved too much to overcome. Kingsley Coman completed his brace in the 56th minute following a clever dummy by Felix, restoring the four-goal cushion.
Despite heavy rotations from head coach Jorge Jesus, Al Nassr maintained total control of possession until the final whistle.
The victory confirms Al Nassr’s status as Group D leaders, while Al Zawraa faces a nervous wait regarding qualification based on goal difference.
Before the match, Jorge Jesus had ended speculation about his captain’s involvement, stating, “Cristiano Ronaldo will be there for the game against Al Zawraa.”
Ronaldo’s impactful performance, despite being substituted at halftime to manage fatigue, highlighted Al Nassr’s overwhelming attacking quality in their continental pursuit.
