Roy Keane tells Rashford he was ‘part of the problem’ at Man United

Roy Keane has hit back at Marcus Rashford, insisting the England star was “part of the problem” at Manchester United after the forward blamed the club’s “inconsistent environment” for his struggles.

Roy Keane has criticised Marcus Rashford for claiming Manchester United’s “inconsistent environment” stalled his progress, saying the England forward was “part of the problem.”

Rashford, 27, who joined Barcelona on loan after falling out with manager Ruben Amorim, has impressed with three goals and five assists in 10 games. His form earned a recall from England boss Thomas Tuchel, who said he only needs “consistency” to be world-class.

However, Keane warned Rashford must take responsibility. “Towards the end of his time at United, there was obviously issues. He was part of the problem with the environment,” Keane said. “He should have been setting the standards.”

While praising his talent, Keane urged maturity. “Talent alone is not enough… if you’re late or not a top pro, you’re part of the problem,” he added. Rashford will aim to maintain form ahead of next year’s World Cup.
