Former Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has called on Vinícius Júnior to follow the example of Cristiano Ronaldo by tempering his provocations, while firmly condemning the racist abuse directed at the Brazilian star.
Sami Khedira has challenged Vinícius Júnior to evolve into a global role model, drawing parallels to Cristiano Ronaldo’s early career ego.
While acknowledging the winger’s talent, Khedira noted, “Vini’s celebration? He sometimes provokes, it’s not new.”
He emphasized that the Brazilian must recognize his influence on children, suggesting that maturing into a leadership role is the essential next step for his professional development.
Despite his critiques, Khedira was uncompromising in his stance against the persistent abuse faced by the forward.
He stated, “But none of that justifies racist insults. No one has the right to discriminate against another person because of their skin color or origin.”
The World Cup winner expressed deep frustration over the recurring nature of these incidents, adding, “it’s sad to have to repeat it.”
