Semenyo’s brace inspired Bournemouth’s late comeback against Fulham to go second in the Premier League.
Antoine Semenyo scored twice as Bournemouth came from behind to beat Fulham 3-1 and move up to second in the Premier League on Friday night.
Ryan Sessegnon put Fulham ahead in the 70th minute after combining with Samuel Chukwueze before firing past Djordje Petrovic. But Semenyo equalised eight minutes later with a brilliant solo effort, bursting past Timothy Castagne before finishing through Bernd Leno’s legs.
Justin Kluivert then struck a stunning long-range effort to complete the turnaround, having collected Semenyo’s pass before unleashing a dipping drive into the top corner. Fulham pressed for an equaliser but were punished on the counter in stoppage time when Ben Doak broke clear and set up Semenyo for his second of the night, his sixth goal in seven league matches.
The result leaves Andoni Iraola’s side just one point behind leaders Liverpool, who face Chelsea on Sunday. Fulham, meanwhile, remain 11th with eight points from their opening seven games.
