Following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim, former Manchester United assistant Rene Meulensteen and club legend Gary Neville have both identified Carlo Ancelotti as the ideal candidate to become the club’s next permanent head coach.
While Michael Carrick has been installed as interim boss until the end of the season, Meulensteen argued that Ancelotti possesses the unique pedigree required for the role, stating, “Carlo Ancelotti is the guy with the type of pedigree who can handle it because he’s done it, he’s seen it and he knows what a winning culture looks like.”
Neville echoed this sentiment, noting that the Italian satisfies critical criteria regarding media management and Premier League experience, asserting that “no-one comes as close to fulfilling everything laid out above than he does.”
Although Ancelotti is currently committed to leading Brazil through the upcoming World Cup, both icons suggest United should be prepared to wait until late July to secure a manager they believe can finally restore the “Manchester United way.”
