Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s controversial immigration remarks have triggered a private apology to the Glazers and a potential FA investigation, while threatening to derail Manchester United’s ambitious stadium redevelopment plans.

It is critical that we maintain an open debate on the challenges facing the UK.”
