RFEF president Rafael Louzán has officially announced that the 2030 World Cup final will be held in Spain, using the declaration to contrast the country’s hosting capabilities against the recent unrest surrounding the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Louzán highlighted Spain’s history of stability and logistical expertise while specifically referencing the controversial events that marred the AFCON final.
Asserting Spain’s readiness to lead the joint bid with Portugal and Morocco, Louzán stated,
“The final will be played here. Spain has demonstrated its organisational capacity. We have seen scenes during the Africa Cup that hurt the image of world football.”
