Suspended Mykhaylo Mudryk banned for WWII massacre in CS2 row

Already serving a football suspension for doping, Chelsea’s Mykhaylo Mudryk has been banned from the gaming platform FACEIT after making offensive historical references to Polish players during a match.

Suspended Chelsea winger Mykhaylo Mudryk has sparked international outrage following a toxic exchange during a Counter-Strike 2 match.

The Ukrainian international allegedly directed provocative messages toward Polish players, referencing the 1939 invasion of Poland and the Volhynia massacre.

Consequently, the gaming platform FACEIT has issued Mudryk a 28-day ban for breaching communication rules and displaying severe toxicity toward other users.

The controversy comes as Mudryk remains sidelined from professional football due to a long-running provisional doping suspension.

Reports suggest the player’s comments were a retaliation to taunts regarding his failed drugs test, yet his choice of historical traumas has been widely condemned as an “insult to history.”

This latest disciplinary issue further complicates the future of the 25-year-old at Stamford Bridge.
