The Sweden international endured a slow start after his £120 million move from Newcastle United but Slot said the striker now looks like the player Liverpool paid for. “The outside world can, from now on, say we have the one we signed,” Slot told reporters. “He was not completely ready yet but now he is 100 per cent.”
Isak has scored just once this season but has a strong record against United, having won four of five league meetings since joining the Premier League. Slot expects goals now that the forward is fully fit. “You’re a No.9 at Liverpool — you need to score goals,” he said. “If he’s fit, we’ll keep creating chances.”
