Thomas Partey in London to deny further rape charges

Villarreal midfielder Thomas Partey appeared at Southwark Crown Court on Monday to face two additional charges of rape involving a fourth complainant, all of which the footballer continues to deny.

Former Arsenal star Thomas Partey appeared at Southwark Crown Court today to address two new charges of rape.

The 32-year-old Ghanaian international, who now plays for Villarreal, is accused of assaulting a fourth woman in London during December 2020.

These allegations follow existing charges involving three other women, bringing the total to seven counts of sexual non-consensual acts which the player denies.

The midfielder remains free on bail, allowing him to continue his professional career in Spain and with the Ghana national team.

His lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, emphasized his innocence during the proceedings, stating: “Thomas Partey continues to deny all charges against him. He has cooperated with the police throughout.

Given there are ongoing legal proceedings, there will be no further comment.” A full trial is scheduled for November.
