Tottenham player ratings as Odobert delivers a strong message to Frank

Tottenham battled to a hard-fought result thanks to an energetic second-half display led by substitute Wilson Odobert, who made a strong case for a starting place with a game-changing performance.

Cristian Romero endured a frustrating evening, earning a booking for a reckless first-half challenge and looking uneasy in possession despite forcing a fine save from Senne Lammens. Micky van de Ven once again stood out with a crucial late tackle to deny Benjamin Šeško, though his adventurous runs out of defence occasionally left space behind.

Djed Spence struggled defensively, twice failing to clear loose balls, while Joao Palhinha and Pape Matar Sarr both underwhelmed in midfield, the latter at fault for Mbeumo’s opener. Brennan Johnson provided attacking spark with a superb cross that went unconverted and showed impressive defensive work rate.

Xavi Simons looked lively early on, drawing boos when substituted, while Richarlison endured a mixed night—wasting big chances but cleverly flicking in the decisive late goal. Randal Kolo Muani combined well at times but was withdrawn at half-time.

From the bench, Odobert’s directness and energy transformed the game, setting up Richarlison’s winner. Destiny Udogie added drive from left-back and assisted Mathys Tel, who equalised with a sharp finish. Rodrigo Bentancur and Kevin Danso made late cameos with limited impact.
