According to a report from Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur has identified Georges Mikautadze as a key target to strengthen their attack during the upcoming transfer window.
The 25-year-old Georgian striker, currently playing for the La Liga outfit Villarreal, has reportedly impressed Spurs with his recent form, including his previous success at Lyon and his “technical attributes necessary to excel in the Premier League.”
The North London club is seeking a more reliable option, as current forwards Dominic Solanke and Richarlison “have not been able to live up to the expectations.”
Mikautadze, who joined Villarreal in the summer, has scored four goals this season. Villarreal is reportedly open to cashing in on the player if their asking price is met.
The Spanish club initially paid €30 million for the striker and is prepared to sell him for a fee of €50 million. This asking price would represent a substantial profit for Villarreal, a margin calculated as approximately 67%.
The report notes Mikautadze is “entering the peak years of his career” and may be eager to take on a “big challenge” in the Premier League.
However, it remains to be seen if Tottenham will meet the valuation for a player who has been with his current club for only a short period.
