Donald Trump to receive FIFA Peace Prize, speak at draw

Donald Trump will speak at the 2026 World Cup draw after receiving the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize, to be presented at the event in Washington D.C. today.

According to a report from Politico, Donald Trump will play a speaking role at the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup draw where FIFA will present its inaugural peace prize.

In a high-profile ceremony at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., co-hosts Canada, Mexico and the United States will conduct the 2026 World Cup draw, and the first-ever FIFA Peace Prize will be awarded — with Trump expected to be centre stage.

The draw event will feature national leaders, entertainment performances and formal group assignments for the 48-team tournament, blending football, diplomacy and spectacle — and shine a spotlight on FIFA’s bid to link sport with global unity.
