Albania manager Sylvinho says Thomas Tuchel is “a lucky man” with England’s talent pool and insists the Three Lions’ selection issues are “not my problem” ahead of Sunday’s World Cup qualifier.
Albania manager Sylvinho has said England boss Thomas Tuchel is “a lucky man” as he prepares for another selection dilemma in the No.10 role, according to a report from TALKSPORT. Tuchel must choose between Morgan Rogers, Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden ahead of next summer’s World Cup, with the trio competing to play behind Harry Kane. Rogers has started the last four matches, while Bellingham and Foden both came off the bench to combine for Eberechi Eze’s second goal against Serbia.
Tuchel previously stated that Bellingham, Foden and Kane cannot all fit into his system, leaving another difficult decision before England face Albania in Tirana on Sunday.
When asked who he would select, Sylvinho declined to engage in the debate. “I’m not England national team coach,” he said. “Head coach for them is of course Thomas Tuchel. He’s got a lot of experience. He knows what he has to do. He’s a lucky man, he’s got a lot of good players around, so that’s not my problem.”
He added: “The only thing I can say is that he’s a lucky man, Thomas Tuchel is a lucky man. He’s got good players in, he’s good as well. I love him.”
England have already secured qualification after winning all seven matches without conceding, including a 2-0 win over Albania in March.
