UEFA sanctions Tottenham following fans misconduct in Frankfurt

Tottenham Hotspur face a suspended away fan ban and over €32,000 in fines following racist behavior and object-throwing during their recent match against Frankfurt.

UEFA has fined Tottenham Hotspur €30,000 and issued a suspended one-match ban on selling tickets to away supporters.

The disciplinary action follows what the governing body described as “the racist and/or discriminatory behaviour of its supporters” during the January 28 Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt.

The travel ban remains suspended under a probationary period lasting until March 2027.

In addition to the primary sanction, the North London club was fined an extra €2,250 for the throwing of objects by fans during the match.

While Spurs secured a -0 victory on the pitch to advance to the Round of 16, the conduct in the stands has placed future European away trips at risk. The club must now ensure no further “discriminatory behaviour” occurs.
