Unai Emery set to upset Arsenal again with Aston Villa

Aston Villa, currently third in the Premier League, hosts league leaders Arsenal. Mikel Arteta’s side aims to maintain their five-point advantage amidst a demanding December schedule.

Arsenal recently beat Brentford 2-0, while Villa secured an action-packed 4-3 victory over Brighton, showcasing their strong form.

Arsenal travel to Villa Park this Saturday to face Aston Villa, marking a high-stakes Premier League encounter.

According to a report from ESPN, Villa have surged into third place thanks to a remarkable run, winning eight of their last nine league games, after a sluggish start to the season when they managed only three points from their first five matches.

Meanwhile, Arsenal lead the league with a five-point cushion over second-placed Manchester City.

However, the Gunners head into the fixture with a mounting injury list: Gabriel Magalhães, William Saliba and Kai Havertz are sidelined, and both Cristian Mosquera and Declan Rice were forced off during Arsenal’s recent 2–0 win over Brentford.

At the same time, Villa’s resurgence, built on disciplined defending and occasional moments of attacking quality, has restored confidence under manager Unai Emery, who has repeatedly praised his squad’s resilience.

With Arsenal’s title challenge potentially derailed by fitness issues, and Villa hungry for points as Champions League contenders, Saturday’s fixture promises to be a pivotal test of form, depth and resolve.
