Victor Font announces Barcelona presidential bid against Laporta

Victor Font launched his bid for the upcoming FC Barcelona presidential elections, criticizing current president Joan Laporta’s leadership and advocating for a transparent, planned management model with support from figures like Xavi Hernández.

According to a report from Europa Press, former FC Barcelona presidential candidate Víctor Font has officially launched the “Nosaltres” movement as a bid to succeed Joan Laporta in the club’s 2026 elections.

The event, held at the Fira de Barcelona, drew more than 1,000 Barça supporters and brought together a broad coalition of voices, including longtime socios and prominent figures from across the club’s spectrum.

Font said “Nosaltres” was born to “leave personalism behind” and to promote a governance model rooted in planning, transparency, and professionalisation rather than improvisation.

“There is another way,” he declared, “a way that doesn’t bet everything on the ball going in, because the ball will go in if there’s a lot of work behind it and not a lot of improvisation.”

He added that “this path is not for a single person; it is for the Barça of everyone — from the oldest member to those born today.”

Font called for a club run by those “who listen, plan and are accountable with transparency, because they have nothing to hide and seek no personal benefit.”

The launch also featured the support of former coach Xavi Hernández, among others, underlining the cross-group nature of the movement.
