Real Madrid’s Endrick has completed a loan move to Lyon to secure more playing time ahead of the 2026 World Cup, receiving a warm farewell message from teammate Vinícius Jr.
Real Madrid forward Endrick has officially joined Ligue 1 side Lyon on loan for the remainder of the season, seeking the regular first-team football that has eluded him under Xabi Alonso.
The 19-year-old Brazilian international has struggled for minutes at the Bernabéu this term, making just four appearances.
Lyon unveiled their new number nine via a festive social media video, with the young striker expressing his excitement for the move, stating: “Christmas has come early.”
The transfer has prompted a heartfelt response from teammate Vinícius Jr, who offered support to his compatriot on social media.
Reflecting the strong bond between Madrid’s Brazilian contingent, Vinícius wrote: “My brother Bob, good luck. We’re waiting for you big time here.”
The message underscores a shared understanding of the pressures faced by young South American talents in Spain, with Vinícius encouraging his teammate to find his rhythm and scoring touch in France.
While Endrick is expected to join Paulo Fonseca’s squad on December 29, registration rules mean his debut will be delayed.
Under French regulations, he is ineligible for the January 3 clash against Monaco and will likely debut in the Coupe de France against Lille on January 11.
Former manager Carlo Ancelotti previously emphasized the importance of this move, noting, “I believe it’s important for him to get back to playing and show his qualities.”
