Vitor Pereira named new Nottingham Forest coach until end of the season

Vitor Pereira has been named Nottingham Forest’s fourth manager of the season, taking over from Sean Dyche to lead a desperate survival bid and an upcoming Europa League campaign.

Nottingham Forest have appointed Vitor Pereira as their fourth permanent manager of a chaotic season, following the dismissal of Sean Dyche on Thursday morning.

The 57-year-old Portuguese coach, who was sacked by Wolves in November, has signed a contract running until the end of the 2026-27 campaign.

He arrives with Forest sitting 17th in the Premier League, just three points above the relegation zone.

Owner Evangelos Marinakis acted swiftly to secure Pereira, who previously won the Greek double under his leadership at Olympiacos.

The appointment breaks a Premier League record for the most permanent managers in a single season, following the departures of Nuno Espírito Santo, Ange Postecoglou, and Dyche.

Pereira’s first challenge is a Europa League play-off against former club Fenerbahçe on Thursday before facing Liverpool.
