Wales’ potential World Cup qualification could bring in over £10 million, with a significant portion earmarked for grassroots football development. FAW chief executive Noel Mooney highlighted additional sponsorship opportunities that could further boost funds for facility improvements nationwide.
Mooney explained that while direct participation funds are reduced by costs, sponsorship bonuses and increased interest can generate millions. He emphasized the ongoing need to improve facilities, stating that World Cup revenue has previously funded projects through the Cymru Football Foundation.
