Why there is no early kick-off in the Premier League this weekend…

Liverpool’s Champions League fixture forced the Premier League to move their Brentford match to an 8pm kick-off on Saturday.

There will be no early Premier League kick-off this Saturday, as Brentford’s clash with Liverpool has been moved from 12:30pm to 8pm due to the Reds’ Champions League commitments. The match, originally scheduled for the lunchtime slot on TNT Sports, was rescheduled after Liverpool were handed an away fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday night.

With Arne Slot’s men playing in Europe just three days before their domestic encounter, the Premier League ruled out a quick turnaround, shifting the fixture to a later kick-off time. The decision means talkSPORT will have exclusive live coverage of the game in its GameDay Exclusive slot, with Reshmin Chowdhury presenting from the Gtech Community Stadium from 7:30pm.

Fans can tune in via the talkSPORT app, website, DAB digital radio, or through smart speakers, while TNT Sports will not broadcast a lunchtime game this weekend.

Brentford vs Liverpool isn’t the only fixture affected by European involvement. Three other Premier League matches have also been moved to Sunday as a result of teams playing on Thursday night. Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest’s meetings with Manchester City and Bournemouth respectively, alongside Arsenal’s home tie against Crystal Palace, were all shifted to 2pm on Sunday.

These fixtures will be shown live on Sky Sports, while talkSPORT will provide live updates and full commentary across all of Sunday’s Premier League action, featuring Sam Matterface, Aaron Lennon, Perry Groves, and Micky Gray.
