Wolves are willing to sell Jorgen Strand Larsen to Nottingham Forest during the January window as they prepare for potential relegation and look to capitalize on the striker’s market value.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are open to selling striker Jorgen Strand Larsen this month as Nottingham Forest intensifies their interest.
Despite the 25-year-old signing a five-year contract in September, the Premier League’s bottom-placed side recognizes that a transfer may be beneficial for all parties.
Forest, currently seven points clear of the drop zone, are seeking attacking reinforcements following a long-term knee injury to top scorer Chris Wood and the impending departure of Arnaud Kalimuendo.
The potential sale follows a difficult season for the Norway international, who has faced criticism from fans after scoring just one league goal this term.
Wolves believe selling the striker now would command a higher fee than in the summer, especially with the club facing likely relegation.
Though Strand Larsen is viewed as a leader behind the scenes, he has started the last three matches on the bench, signaling a shift in his role under Rob Edwards.
Manager Rob Edwards remained non-committal regarding the striker’s future ahead of the club’s trip to Everton.
Addressing the potential for departures, Edwards stated: “I haven’t said that. There will be interest in a number of our players I would have thought, especially with the position we’re in and we’ve got some really good players.
We’re under no pressure to do anything if we don’t think it’s right for the football club.”
