The City boss, who handed Erling Haaland the captain’s armband against his former club, appeared irritated when asked if resting Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva was due to Sunday’s Premier League meeting with Liverpool. “You don’t know me. After 10 seasons, I’m sorry to tell you, you don’t know me,” Guardiola said.
He added, “I never select a team which I don’t believe is the best to win a game. Never, ever,” before cutting the interview short.
Guardiola also confirmed midfielder Rodri missed the game due to a minor setback, saying, “He doesn’t feel perfect, so that’s why we don’t take a risk.” Haaland later scored as City dominated early in the match.
