Tuchel praised Rashford’s revival at Barcelona but warned him to stay consistent or risk ending his career with regrets.
England manager Thomas Tuchel has urged Marcus Rashford to fulfil his “limitless” potential, warning the Barcelona forward not to look back on his career with disappointment.
Rashford, on loan from Manchester United, has scored three goals and provided five assists in 10 matches for the Spanish champions. Tuchel, who recalled him to the England squad after a long absence, said the 27-year-old must prove his worth at both club and international levels.
“It’s not about talent but proving yourself consistently,” Tuchel said. “He can be one of the best in the world — he’s explosive, strong in the air, and technically gifted. There are no limits, but his numbers must match his potential.”
Barcelona boss Hansi Flick described Rashford as “unbelievable,” with the club holding an option to buy him for £30m next year.
Tuchel added that England’s recent progress excites him, praising their hunger and pressing in wins over Wales and Serbia, saying, “It’s a pleasure to coach and to watch this team.”
