Germany to face USA in World Cup warm-up if they qualify

Germany plans to play the USA in a final World Cup tune-up match but must still secure qualification.

Germany will play a friendly match against the United States as part of their final preparations for the 2026 World Cup, according to Bild (via @iMiaSanMia). The match, described as a dress rehearsal, is scheduled for early June and will take place in the U.S., one of the tournament’s co-hosts.

The last meeting between both sides was two years ago in Julian Nagelsmann’s first game as Germany’s head coach, which ended in a 3–1 victory for the visitors with goals from Ílkay Gündoğan, Niclas Füllkrug, and Jamal Musiala.

Before facing the Americans, Germany will play friendly games against Ivory Coast, Switzerland, and Finland. However, their participation in the World Cup is not yet guaranteed. To qualify, they must win their next two fixtures against Luxembourg and Slovakia—or secure at least four points depending on other group results.
