City tops, Man Utd and Spurs struggle in 2025 PL form table

A new analysis of Premier League results compiled since January 1, 2025, offers a fresh perspective on team form, with the calendar year table highlighting significant performance disparities.

Manchester City surprisingly tops the form table, despite Arsenal and Liverpool holding the top two spots after playing one more game.

The compilation aims to provide a better gauge of current form by combining the second half of the 2024/25 season and the opening two months of the current campaign.

One of the biggest standouts in the table is Crystal Palace, who sit fifth, benefiting from an unbeaten run that started after “Newcastle United hammered Palace 5-0 on 16 April 2025 at St James’ Park and then they went on an unbeaten run of 19 matches in all competitions.”

Conversely, the table flags four teams who are “really stand out, as Man U, Spurs, Wolves and West Ham with woeful form in 2025.” Their poor performance across the calendar year indicates deep-rooted struggles.

Newcastle United occupies a respectable seventh place, only three points shy of fourth position. Given their “tough opening schedule of matches that Eddie Howe’s side have had this season and so many obstacles in the Head Coach’s way,” the analysis concludes that “this 2025 record of results for Newcastle in the league remains very positive.”

Furthermore, the gap from second to eighth place is incredibly tight in this 2025 form table, with just eight points separating the teams.
