Al Nassr has appointed Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach on a two-year deal, tasking the Australian with leading Cristiano Ronaldo’s star-studded squad.
POSTECOGLOU NAMED NEW AL NASSR HEAD COACH
Al Nassr have named Ange Postecoglou their new head coach on a two-year contract, according to Sporting Tribune. The Saudi Pro League champions confirmed the appointment on Friday, calling it the start of “a new chapter” for the club.
The 60-year-old inherits a squad led by Cristiano Ronaldo as he seeks to revive his managerial career after a difficult Premier League run. Postecoglou previously won the Europa League with Tottenham Hotspur before a poor league campaign cost him his job, while a brief Nottingham Forest spell also ended badly.
He has also enjoyed success with Celtic, Yokohama F. Marinos and Brisbane Roar. Sporting Tribune reported that Al Nassr voiced confidence in Postecoglou as he begins his new role.
