Alan Pardew believes Benjamin Sesko’s lack of European football this season may be affecting his form at Manchester United. The 22-year-old joined from RB Leipzig in a £73.7million summer deal but has scored only twice in 11 appearances, with his last goal coming nearly a month ago.
Speaking on The Final Word for talkSPORT, Pardew said: “The jury is very much out on him. I’ve not really seen enough from him yet to stick my hat on him and say, ‘Wow, this guy’s going to be great’.”
Pardew added that with United missing out on Europe, Sesko has fewer opportunities to gain rhythm and confidence. “He hasn’t got that quantity of games that perhaps he would like,” he noted.
talkSPORT pundit Ally McCoist also urged patience, saying Sesko needs time to adapt: “Clearly, we’ve got to give the lad a bit of time, and he will be given time.”
