Arsenal creator criticizes Mikel Arteta’s aggressive touchline conduct

Football Insider creator Ollie Farrow, an Arsenal fan, declares Mikel Arteta the Premier League’s worst-behaved manager due to his aggressive touchline conduct, though he acknowledges the Spaniard’s passion despite his frequent rule-breaking.

According to a report from Football Insider, Arsenal content creator Ollie Farrow has launched a pointed critique of his own club’s manager, calling Mikel Arteta “probably … the worst behaved manager in the Premier League.”

Farrow, who admits this is “going against my club,” says Arteta’s sideline behaviour borders on theatrical, and he routinely stomps out of his technical box “screaming.”

Farrow concedes he admires Arteta’s passion and commitment, calling his animated touchline style a double-edged sword. “I love it. It’s good to have a manager that shows that he loves his club and wants to win games,” he said.

But he insists that the manager’s repeated rule-breaking has consequences. “If you’re breaking them, you’re going to get sanctioned.”

Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett is also cited in the report, warning that Arteta’s conduct has “damaged” Arsenal’s reputation.

The report notes that during the 2023–24 season, Arteta was booked five times in the Premier League — the most of any manager — though he did improve in the following campaign, earning three bookings.
