Eberechi Eze makes North London derby history with first-ever Premier League hat-trick

Eberechi Eze delivered a sensational hat-trick, propelling Arsenal to a dominant victory over rivals Spurs and extending their Premier League lead to six points after Manchester City’s slip-up.

According to a report from ESPN, Eberechi Eze made history with a sensational hat-trick in Arsenal’s 4–1 thrashing of Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby.

Eze, who turned down a move to Spurs in August to join Arsenal for £60 million from Crystal Palace, struck three times within 35 minutes to cap off a dominant showing.

His first came just before halftime, followed by a swift second soon after the restart, and he sealed the treble with a cool, curving finish in the 76th minute.

By doing so, Eze eclipsed legendary names like Ian Wright, Thierry Henry, Robin van Persie, Jürgen Klinsmann, Jermain Defoe, and Harry Kane — no one among them had recorded a league hat-trick in this fixture since Alan Sunderland in December 1978.

Only two other players had ever done so in competitive matches: Ted Drake (Arsenal, 1934) and Terry Dyson (Spurs, 1961).

Speaking after the game, Eze said: “That was the prayer today, for a hat-trick … God gave it to me … All my family is here … that makes it even more special for me.”

Eze’s treble has not only cemented his place in derby folklore, but also extended Arsenal’s lead atop the Premier League table — underlining his growing importance to Mikel Arteta’s side.
