Arsenal defenders Riccardo Calafiori and Ben White have been cleared to play against Wolves, though captain Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz remain sidelined until the weekend.
Mikel Arteta has provided a significant fitness boost for Arsenal, confirming that defenders Riccardo Calafiori and Ben White are available for Wednesday’s clash against Wolves.
Calafiori, who withdrew during the warm-up against Wigan, and White, who suffered hamstring tightness, have both recovered.
“He’s fine, he was training with us today,” Arteta stated regarding Calafiori, while noting that White’s issue was simply “a bit of fatigue” following his recent exploits.
However, the news is less positive for midfielders Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz, who will both miss the trip to Molineux.
While they are ruled out for Wednesday, Arteta remains “very hopeful” the pair can return for Sunday’s pivotal North London derby against Tottenham.
Addressing a string of unusual pre-match warm-up injuries this season, the manager admitted the club is “looking into it” after four separate incidents in recent months.
