Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp made a sentimental return to the Anfield dugout for a 2-2 charity draw against Borussia Dortmund, promising to return for next year’s LFC Foundation fundraiser.
Jurgen Klopp returned to Liverpool this weekend to co-manage a legends side against his former club, Borussia Dortmund.
In front of a record 60,582 fans, goals from Thiago and Jay Spearing saw the Reds take a halftime lead before Dortmund rallied to draw 2-2.
The match served as a poignant tribute to the late Diogo Jota, with both teams pausing for a 20th-minute applause.
The German reflected on the reunion with players from both of his former clubs, confirming his commitment as an LFC Foundation ambassador.
Klopp stated: “I enjoyed every second. My role was definitely not to have a lot of words. I was here for the Foundation and to be part of a really special experience.”
He celebrated his return by reviving his iconic fist-pump for the supporters.
