Bayern Munich have established a new Bundesliga single-season record of 105 goals after a dominant 5-0 victory over St. Pauli on Matchday 29.
Vincent Kompany’s side made history at the Millerntor-Stadion, surpassing the previous landmark of 101 goals set during the 1971/72 campaign.
Jamal Musiala opened the scoring to equal the old record before Leon Goretzka fired home the historic 102nd goal.
Further strikes from Michael Olise, Nicolas Jackson, and Raphaël Guerreiro extended the tally, leaving the reigning champions with five fixtures remaining to increase their haul.
The achievement sees the current squad overtake the 101-goal total previously matched by the 2019/20 treble-winning team under Hansi Flick.
With the attack in prolific form, the bar for German top-flight scoring has been raised to unprecedented heights.
“Bayern went one better on Matchday 29 against St. Pauli to claim the outright record,” as they continue to dominate the domestic scoring charts.
