Arsenal are considering selling Havertz and Jesus to finance a blockbuster move for Julian Alvarez amid strong competition and Atletico’s efforts to keep him.
Arsenal are reportedly prepared to sell Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus as part of plans to fund a €120m move for Julian Alvarez. Manager Mikel Arteta is said to be targeting a major attacking upgrade ahead of the 2026–27 season, with the duo’s potential departures expected to reduce wages and raise transfer funds.
Alvarez, currently with Atletico Madrid, has done little to dismiss speculation over his future. “I have nothing to say… I’m happy at Atletico,” he said, before adding, “What do I know? Maybe yes, maybe no, you never know.” The forward has been in strong form this season, attracting interest from top European clubs.
Atletico, led by Diego Simeone, are reportedly preparing a lucrative new deal worth around €10m per year to retain Alvarez. However, Arsenal could face competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, as the race intensifies for one of Europe’s most in-demand forwards.
