Lampard, who guided the club to a top-flight return for the first time in over 25 years, has been linked with Chelsea after Liam Rosenior’s exit. King acknowledged the attention, saying, “Everybody is going to get linked with everything, it’s a merry-go-round,” while praising Lampard’s achievements as “a huge achievement nobody can take away from him.”
Despite the speculation, King said Lampard is “in a happy place” and emotionally connected to the club. “We don’t worry about what may or may not happen for the head coach,” he added, as Coventry continues planning for life in the Premier League following their promotion success.
