Enzo Fernandez spotted in Madrid after Chelsea discipline row

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has reignited transfer speculation after being seen in Madrid weeks after club disciplinary action over comments linked to Real Madrid.

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez was spotted in Madrid less than a month after being disciplined by the club over remarks seen as encouraging transfer links with Real Madrid. The Argentine international was photographed attending the Mutua Madrid Open alongside teammates Marc Cucurella and Joao Pedro.

Fernandez had previously said, “I’d like to live in Madrid. It’s a beautiful city, reminds me of Buenos Aires,” comments that reportedly led to internal sanctions. Chelsea are said to have suspended him for two matches earlier this month, although his latest trip was reportedly approved by club staff.

Despite the off-field speculation, Fernandez remains a key figure for Chelsea. He scored the winner in the club’s FA Cup semi-final victory over Leeds United, earning praise from interim manager Calum McFarlane, who said: “He’s a winner – he’s got so much talent, he’s got so much fire.”
