Former Liverpool striker El Hadji Diouf has been handed a one-year suspended prison sentence after failing to pay nearly £14,000 in child support to his ex-wife Valerie Bishop.
The 45-year-old Senegalese legend — twice African Player of the Year — was ordered to pay ten million West African francs (£13,220) after skipping multiple court hearings. His lawyers argued he had more than enough money to pay.
