Norway thank FIFA for favour ahead of England World Cup quarter-final

Norway have thanked FIFA after relocating to a new hotel following player complaints ahead of their World Cup quarter-final against England.

Norway have moved to a new training base ahead of Saturday’s FIFA World Cup quarter-final against England after several players complained about conditions at their previous hotel in Fort Lauderdale.

According to the Daily Express, the squad had faced illness, construction noise and logistical issues, prompting officials to seek a change before their biggest match in years.

Captain Martin Ødegaard admitted there were areas that “could have been better,” while coach StÃ¥le Solbakken said the team lacked a proper space for meetings.

Delegation chief Truls Daehl revealed FIFA supported the move by transferring its accommodation package, including 50 rooms, security and transport, although Norway will cover the additional hotel costs.

Norway head into the tie in strong form after winning all eight qualifying matches before defeating Ivory Coast and Brazil in the knockout rounds.

Erling Haaland, who has scored seven goals in four World Cup matches, also described England as one of the tournament favourites ahead of the Miami Gardens showdown.
