Per Mertesacker is in concrete discussions with the DFB to take over as Managing Director Sport when Andreas Rettig steps down at the end of the year.
According to reports, the DFB is locked in advanced negotiations with Per Mertesacker regarding the role of Managing Director Sport.
The strategic plan is for the former Arsenal and Germany defender to step into the position as the direct successor to Andreas Rettig, who is scheduled to vacate the post at the conclusion of the year.
Mertesacker is reportedly prepared to take on the challenge and collaborate alongside Jürgen Klopp within the national setup.
