Morgan Rogers will wear Chelsea’s famous No. 17 shirt following his club-record move from Aston Villa.
According to Birmingham Live, Chelsea have handed new signing Morgan Rogers the iconic No. 17 shirt following his £117 million transfer from Aston Villa.
The jersey has previously been worn by club stars including Eden Hazard, Pedro, Mateo Kovacic, Raheem Sterling, Mohamed Salah and Emmanuel Petit.
Rogers joins the Blues on a long-term deal after becoming the most expensive British player in football history.
Birmingham Live also reported that Rogers is eager to begin work under head coach Xabi Alonso, whose football philosophy influenced his decision to join Chelsea.
The England international also revealed his excitement about reuniting with close friend Cole Palmer after the pair first played together in England’s youth setup and at Manchester City.
