The Super League has submitted a final proposal to UEFA for a revamped Champions League format, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo. Talks have been held in secret for the past eight months between UEFA, A22 (the company behind the Super League), and clubs including Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The plan, dubbed a “Super Champions League,” would retain the name but introduce two groups of 18 teams from 2027, with qualification still decided by domestic leagues. Matches would be broadcast on UNIFY, a new platform offering both free and premium access.
UEFA and the clubs have met seven times since December 2024, following a favourable European court ruling. The proposal focuses on governance, broadcasting, and competition format, aiming for more balanced fixtures and stronger revenues.
No deal has been reached, but UEFA is now considering the plan, which could take effect from 2027.
