FIFA U-20 World Cup: Argentina thrash Nigeria 4-0

Argentina outclassed Nigeria 4–0 to advance in the FIFA U-20 World Cup, with Maher Carrizo’s brace leading a dominant display.

Argentina’s U-20 side overwhelmed Nigeria’s Flying Eagles 4–0 in a FIFA U-20 World Cup knockout clash on Wednesday. Alejo Sarco opened the scoring in the second minute from Dylan Gorosito’s cross before Maher Carrizo doubled the lead with a stunning free-kick in the 23rd minute and struck again early in the second half. Mateo Silvetti sealed the rout with a 66th-minute finish after a fine team move initiated by Gianluca Prestianni.

Despite Nigeria’s efforts, including Daniel Daga’s close-range attempt and Kparobo Arierhi’s shot that hit the post, they failed to penetrate Argentina’s solid defense marshalled by goalkeeper Santino Barbi. Flying Eagles’ keeper Ebenezer Harcourt made several key saves to prevent further damage, but Argentina’s control of possession and sharp finishing proved decisive. Tactical substitutions from Nigeria’s bench could not shift momentum as Argentina cruised into the next round.
