Mikel Arteta says Arsenal will go all out for victory against Manchester City despite Bukayo Saka’s absence in a crucial title showdown.
Mikel Arteta has insisted Arsenal will play to win in Sunday’s title clash against Manchester City, dismissing suggestions of a cautious approach. “We want to win the game… We are there to win the game,” he said, emphasising his side’s intent to secure maximum points at the Etihad Stadium.
Arsenal head into the fixture six points clear, though City have a game in hand, making the encounter pivotal in the title race. Arteta stressed his team would not adopt a defensive mindset, adding, “We’re not going to propose a game like this because we never do that,” while acknowledging the challenge posed by the reigning champions.
The Gunners will be without Bukayo Saka, who has been ruled out with an Achilles issue. “Bukayo is out, that’s for sure,” Arteta confirmed, noting the team has coped with injuries throughout the season. Arsenal also face upcoming European commitments against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
