Chelsea have confirmed the signing of France international defender Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace on a long-term contract running until 2032.
The 26-year-old centre-back becomes another addition to Xabi Alonso’s squad ahead of the 2026-27 season and is expected to link up with his new teammates immediately for pre-season preparations.
Lacroix said discussions with Alonso convinced him the pair shared the same ambition of winning trophies at Stamford Bridge.
According to GOAL, the French defender described Chelsea as a club with a rich winning tradition and expressed his eagerness to contribute to future success.
The former Palace defender arrives after helping the Eagles win the FA Cup, Community Shield and UEFA Conference League during his two seasons at Selhurst Park. He also made his France debut earlier this year and featured three times at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
