Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has opened up about a highly secretive, luxury private jet meeting held in mid-air with Kylian Mbappé’s family in a failed attempt to sign the French superstar.
Jurgen Klopp has revealed the extraordinary lengths Liverpool went to in their failed pursuit of French superstar Kylian Mbappé.
Speaking in an interview with Magenta TV, as shared by ESPN UK, the former Reds boss labeled the audacious scouting mission as the most expensive non-transfer the club ever invested in.
According to Klopp, Liverpool officials flew from Blackpool to Nice, boarding a massive five-room private jet alongside the entire Mbappé family.
To avoid the prying eyes of the media and rival clubs, the plane literally flew around in circles while the two parties held talks and shared a luxury meal.
Despite the fantastic mid-air pitch, Mbappé ultimately chose a move to Paris.
