Manchester City is in the lead to sign Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, who reportedly prefers a move to the Etihad over Manchester United. United are unwilling to overpay for the midfielder. The transfer fee could be record-breaking, possibly exceeding Declan Rice’s £105m move.

Forest manager Vitor Pereira wants to keep his best players, but Anderson is seen as the likely departure due to the club’s lack of European football. Anderson joined Forest in 2024 from Newcastle for £35m and has made 92 appearances.
