Mourinho hints at possible exit from Benfica amid Real Madrid rumours

José Mourinho has cast doubt on his Benfica future, fuelling speculation of a possible return to Real Madrid and interest from Premier League clubs.

José Mourinho has refused to guarantee he will remain at Benfica beyond the current season, despite having a contract running until 2027. Speaking ahead of their clash with Sporting CP, he said: “Can I guarantee that I’ll be at Benfica next season? … I can’t guarantee what will happen.”

The Portuguese coach’s comments have intensified speculation linking him with a possible return to Real Madrid, 13 years after leaving the club. Mourinho managed Madrid between 2010 and 2013, winning a Copa del Rey and a Spanish Super Cup while reaching multiple Champions League semi-finals.

Interest is also said to be growing from English clubs as his future remains uncertain. Meanwhile, Benfica continue their title chase in Portugal, sitting third behind Porto and Sporting, as speculation over Mourinho’s next move continues to build.
