Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly reluctant to sign Manchester City midfielder Rodri this summer despite the Spain international’s desire to join the Spanish giants.
Rodri, who inspired Spain to World Cup glory, has emerged as a potential target with his City contract entering its final year in 2027.
According to Managing Madrid, citing Cadena SER and other Spanish outlets, Perez has reservations over the deal due to Rodri’s age, his recovery from a serious ACL injury, and an alleged previous agreement with presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme.
Although the midfielder would strengthen Madrid’s midfield, the report adds Perez is not currently considering a move, though that stance could change before the transfer window closes.
