PSG fight back to draw 3-3 with Strasbourg

Paris Saint-Germain fought back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 with Strasbourg, preserving their Ligue 1 lead after a thrilling encounter at Parc des Princes.

Paris Saint-Germain battled back from two goals down to earn a 3-3 draw with Strasbourg in a thrilling Ligue 1 contest on Friday, ensuring they retained top spot in the standings.

Bradley Barcola opened the scoring early for the French and European champions, but Strasbourg stunned the hosts with a Joaquin Panichelli brace and a goal from Diego Moreira to lead 3-1. PSG, missing several key players including Ousmane Dembele, Marquinhos, and Joao Neves, responded strongly in the second half.

Goncalo Ramos converted a penalty before Senny Mayulu struck the equaliser, rescuing a point for Luis Enrique’s men. The result leaves PSG one point clear of Strasbourg, who were denied a first-ever Ligue 1 victory in 35 trips to Paris.

Desire Doue, returning from injury, assisted Barcola’s opener and won the penalty that led to Ramos’s goal. PSG now turn their focus to Tuesday’s Champions League clash away to Bayer Leverkusen, having already defeated Atalanta and Barcelona in the competition.

Meanwhile, Liam Rosenior’s Strasbourg will face Jagiellonia Bialystok in the UEFA Conference League next week. Elsewhere in Ligue 1, Monaco visit Angers on Saturday in new coach Sebastien Pocognoli’s debut match in charge of the principality side.
